The organising committee has worked tirelessly in finalising this programme to try to please the young and not so young. It is now up to our Australia-wide community to once again make this Festival an Adelaide success story. The following is a brief summary of what to expect, more information will follow in future editions, remember book your tickets early to receive the 'Early Bird' discount!
VISITORS FROM ESTONIA
We have been extremely fortunate to have secured a number of entertainers from Estonia, amongst them:
NOORKUU, the five member a capella male quintet (THEIR ONLY PERFORMANCE IN AUSTRALIA);
MAGIC STRINGS (Võlukeeled) a young and exciting violin ensemble and VAT Theatre two man comedy "Gunn, Gunn, vana..." performed by well known Estonian Drama Theatre actors Tõnu Oja and Tiit Sukk.
CHURCH SERVICE AND OFFICIAL OPENING OF EP – A Service will be carried out by pastor Allan Taruste, we may also have a surprise visit by the Estonian Lutheran Church Bishop Urmas Viilma.
ARTS AND CRAFTS EXHIBITION has an added component of Photography which adds a new dimension. We are very hopeful of a large number exhibits in all categories.
OPENING NIGHT DINNER DANCE has always been extremely popular, the last two Festivals in Adelaide were sold out. It will once again be a very casual affair with good food – the right time and place to meet again old friends, and make new ones.
MUUSAJÜNGRID Muse disciples from Brisbane will present a programme based on "Kalevipoeg" theme. They performed extremely well at Sydney and Melbourne Estonian Festivals.
FOLK DANCING AND COMBINED CHOIRS afternoon - the most popular event at all Estonian Festivals. Plans are progressing well and as always – be prepared for surprises.
SPORTS, SCOUTS AND GUIDES REUNION - considering that almost all of us have either played Estonian sport or have been scouts and guides, expect a full house for this event. With lots to talk about and swap experiences. A bonus will be a BAR NIGHT.
CHILDREN'S PARTY – courtesy of Peter Salu on his property in the Hills. Adelaide was the first to introduce a Children's Party to a Festival and this year's event will prove to be extremely entertaining and popular.
NEW YEARS EVE DINNER DANCE will be a fitting end to our festivities. On a Hollywood theme, complete with a red carpet and photo opportunities it will be a memorable night – not to be missed. Be early, bookings close on 15th December due to catering requirements.
Viiuldajate ansambel Võlukeeled on loodud Vanalinna Muusikakoolis 2012 aastal. Hetkel mängib ansamblis 19 last vanuses 6-14a. Lapsed õpivad viiulimängu Suzuki meetodi järgi. Ansamblis õpitakse koos musitseerima. Repertuaar, mida mängitakse, lubab tutvuda erinevate muusika ¾anritega. Ansamblis saavad koos mängida lapsed, kellel on erinev ettevalmistus. Koos mängida on põnev ning see pakub rõõmu. Võlukeeled on andnud kontserte või esinenud väga eriilmelistes kohtades, viimased nendest: Torontos Tartu College’is, Whistleris Lääneranniku Eesti Päevadel 2015, ©veitsis Davosis 10. üle-euroopalisel Suzuki konventsioonil, Milanos EXPOl Eesti paviljoni kultuuriprogrammis.
